The man was the epitome of Black Pride. He encouraged us to take a stand and do it for ourselves. He calmed a nation when Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated, he thrilled the world with his supreme showmanship that has been copied by many since (Michael, Prince, Usher), he gave music to those not talented enough to come up with their own and made it sound good. There would be no Rap/Hip Hop without Soul Brother #1.......The Hardest Working Man In Show Business.......Mr Please Please Please.......the one........the only......The GODFATHER OF SOUL.......Mr Jaaaaaaaammmmmes Brown!!! Rest in Peace my Brother. Thank you for blessing us with your greatness.
I personally try to have them down before New Year's Day. My grandmother used to say that you are leaving last year's news out. You have to start the year fresh. This year I will have them down on time simply because I will have someone to help me take them down. (Child labor is great!) I just can't stand those who leave them up year round. My own personal preference....the way I like it....the it is.
